2018 Summer Pictures Guidance Note
Following the success of last year’s Summer Images event, Committee have decided to include a similar event this season. Again, as with last year, the formal competition format with nominated subjects has been replaced with a more informal event, which requires Summer Pictures taken in and around East Dunbartonshire. The main reason for the changes to the format of the event is to make it a less formal affair and thereby encourage new members and less experienced members to enter. There are no set subjects for the event, we are simply looking for interesting images you have taken over the summer months in and around East Dunbartonshire.
This is an opportunity for you to present to the membership a small selection of Digital Images which you think will be of interest because they show:-
- Events you attended
- Places you visited
- People you met
- Or anything else
The only requirement is that the images must have been taken in and around East Dunbartonshire during this summer. The images will not be judged and it would add to the presentation if you were able to tell us of the story behind the images.
Remember, they do not have to be competition quality images. If you have been somewhere interesting and have simply taken a few snaps on a compact camera then we would still like to see them.
The event will take place on our opening night (Monday 3rd September 2018), so if you wish to display your images, please email the images to Ian Doig at Aggsbaggs@sky.com by Monday 27th August 2018. If you are unable to email the images to Ian then save the images to a memory stick and bring it along on the night. Please note that your presentation should be restricted to a maximum of 15 digital images.
Images must be either JPEG of TIFF format & resized to a format size of 1600 pixels wide x 1200 pixels tall, at 96dpi resolution, which accords with the new SPF competition standard.
If you have any queries please email Ian or speak to him on 07836 683603.
